Definitions and Criteria for UPHS Membership
1. Criteria for Regular Members (must meet all Criteria 2.a., 2.b., and 2.c.)
- The applicant must be an agency, program or organization, but not an individual. The UPHS
representative of this applicant must be the agency, program or organization’s executive director,
director, president (or other title indicating chief executive officer).
- The primary purpose or mission of the applicant agency, program or organization must be the
provision of direct human services. The United Partners for Human Services defines human
service as the delivery of assistance and services to people. Applicants for Regular Membership
must be able to describe their services in one or more of the
Categories of Human Services.
- The applicant for Regular Membership must be a non-profit agency, program or organization.

2. Criteria for a Supportive Partner Member (must meet any one of the following Criteria)
- For-profit organizations, companies or corporations.
- Individuals.
- Non-profit organizations whose primary mission is something other than the provision of direct
human services.
- Non-profit organizations that do not provide services within the Big Bend area (defined as Franklin,
Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor and Wakulla counties).
